| PRESERVATION PLAZA
The St. Tammany Parish School Board Preservation Plaza will be constructed on
the Jefferson Avenue Side of the C. J. Schoen Administrative Complex in
Covington as a beautiful and lasting tribute to the dedicated service that
past employees have given to education in St. Tammany Parish. The service of
retired employees can be memorialized through the purchase of personalized
bricks, which will form the walkways throughout the Plaza. Other donations can
be made for the purchase of sculptures, benches, and other additions to the
Plaza. Bricks may be purchased in the name of any individual who retired from
the St. Tammany Parish Public School System or who passed away while in
service after at least 10 years of employment. A donation of $75 is required
for the purchase of each brick. The Employee's name, position, and starting
and ending dates of service will be inscribed on each brick. To order a brick
or for more information, visit the website
http://stpsb.org/PreservationPlaza/plazaindex.htm.

Parents please be aware that Louisiana law now requires all students
attending colleges in Louisiana to receive a vaccine for protection against
meningitis. It is especially important for those students planning to live
in dormitories, but is beneficial for all students even while they are in
high school. The newest vaccine available is called Menactra and should
provide life long protection. The vaccine should be available through your
physician, but be aware not all insurance companies are covering this
immunization and costs about $100. It can also be given at the St. Tammany
Parish Health Unit which is now located on the Northshore Regional Medical
Center complex,105 Medical Center Drive Suite 101 for a cost of $10. You
can contact the health unit at 646-6445. Be proactive and get your student
immunized against meningitis.

your business can support NHS this year with new or used equipment, please
