Hello Everyone,
I am so excited about being back in the classroom this year. I have taught
in the classroom grades 1-4 for eight years and worked as either a Reading
Recovery teacher or reading interventionist for another eight years.
When my youngest of three children entered pre-school I started LSU. After
two months and every month thereafter my husband began asking, "How much
longer do you have?" Well, the day finally came after four years in 1992. It
was official, I was a teacher when I got hired by EBR that fall to teach
fourth grade. And again my husband is asking, "How much longer?" because I
am working on my Masters degree in curriculum and instruction with a
concentration in literacy.
I have been married to Mike Brown for 32 years and we have three children.
All have graduated from college and moved out. The empty nest was tough and
many tears flowed for about two weeks. Then we got used to it real fast and
started enjoying it.
