Homework

We will be working in our journals every day. You may have your child
practice writing their name with an initial capitol letter and the rest
lower case letters. Also focus on the proper pencil grip. Remember working
with play-doh or clay strengthens those muscles used for fine motor control
and writing! If play-doh and clay scares you (I know it doesn't mix well
with carpet), the smaller Legos work just as well.

You may also work on letter/number recognition at home with your children.
One way to do this is to talk about the letters or numbers you see as you
drive from place to place. It's much more fun to go on a letter or number
hunt than to work with flash cards!
