Our current unit is "Symbols of Christmas!" Our theme this week is "The
Gingerbread Man." We are busy making ornaments for our tree, gifts for our
parents, and having fun learning skills at the same time! We have begun an
extensive look at opposites and lowercase letters.
PHONICS HELP:
You can also help your child write by showing them how to hold their
pens/pencils correctly to trace their name. You can also help by showing
them how to hold scissors at home! Don't forget that only
the FIRST letter of your name should be capitalized.
The kids are doing a really good job trying to write their names and cutting
on a straight path! You can now begin discussing with your child letter
sounds. You can do this in a simple daily drive. For example, "What does
McDonald's start with?" or "What letters do you see on that stop sign?"
THANKS for everything that you do!! You are your child's BEST teacher!
