Practice reading the sentences from their Reading Journals daily. It is
important that the journals come back to school each day as we use these in
class as well. Please review the following letters with your child this
week Mm, Ss, Rr, Tt, Nn, Pp, Cc, Aa, Dd, and Jj. We will be introducing
the letter Ii and the sight word am this week. Your child should know the
letter names, as well as the sound that represents each letter. Continue to
review the sight words; I, a, the, my, can, see, go,like and to. Continue
to practice making words with your child using the letters learned. Sound
out each sound and have your child write the words.
MONDAY: Complete “Sweet Treats” worksheet. Practice counting 1-40.
TUESDAY: Use the attached list: Have your child sound out each letter in
the word. Then call out the word and have your child write the sounds
he/she hears.
WEDNESDAY: Create your own pattern using “Zoo Train Animals”. Use the
animals you need to create at least 2 different patterns.
THURSDAY: Practice writing your first and last name. First letter
