The B.E.E. Book is a 3-ring notebook that your first-grader will use everyday to develop organizational skills and learn responsibility. First grade is a foundational year, and it is important to teach children how to keep up with homework, newsletters, and important notes. This book is a way of maintaining effective communication between home and school. It aims to eliminate lost money, homework, and newsletters as well as keep parents and students informed of important events and academic progress. So if you want to know what the "buzz" is all about in Mrs. Carlton's class, check out your child's B.E.E. Book!
Here's what you'll find inside:
Homework: This section contains any loose homework sheets that need to be completed and returned to school the next day.
Super Work to Keep at Home: This section contains center work, art work, and seat work that may be kept at home for display. Please clean this pocket every night!
Important Notes and Money: This pocket contains any notes from the school and/or your child's teacher. Also, please send notes to me in this pocket. This pocket is also for any money that needs to be sent to school. Please put in an envelope with your child's name, teacher's name, and the money's purpose (i.e. Jane Smith Mrs. Carlton's Class Lunch Money).
Spelling: This pocket holds the week's spelling words as well as homework assignments. Leave the homework in the pocket so I can check it daily! I will collect the HW on Fridays.
Conduct: This section will contain your child's conduct report. It LIVES in this pocket. This way, you can view it daily to see if your child got any conduct checks this day.
***Check every pocket of the B.E.E. book EVERY NIGHT!!!
