Read to your child each night. Ask questions about the story.
Listen to them read the little books they are bringing home. Keep them in a
safe place so they can reread and reread them.
Have your child read sentences in reading journal. Have him/her put their
finger under the words as they read.
Review sight word list in the reading journal. Make simple sentences and
have your child identify the sight word.
Reading journals will be coming home every night except Friday. Please go
over sentences and sight words in journal. Let children make their own
sentences with sight words. Call out cvc words and have them write them.
You may do this writing in the reading journal.
