Hi parents!
Last week was very exciting! We learned about St. Patrick's Day, shamrocks, and GOLD! We read a funny book called "Leprechauns on the Loose" and wrote our own How-To books called "How to Catch a Leprechaun." They turned out So CUTE! We learned about writing "How-To" books during Writer's Workshop. We learned that these books have a title, a list of items you need, and steps. We used what we learned to write our own books! I am very proud of all of the "Stretchy Snakes" that sounded out the words to write their sentences! On Friday, we had a visit from a leprechaun named "Tiny". He made a HUGE mess in our classroom. He turned over the tables, dumped papers on the ground, and poured boxes of counting bears, dominoes, and blocks on the floor! He left us a note saying that he was looking for his gold, but that he couldn't find it! So, he left us "Leprechaun Juice" that we used to make "Shamrock Shakes". We wrote the recipe for making the shakes, followed the steps, and enjoyed the finished product! They were great!

Love,
Mrs. Wells
