May 14, 2012 Reading – The test for this week stories will be on Friday. “The Banjo Trick” and “Frog and Toad Together”. Reading vocabulary words to know are: *any *nothing *sorry *ready *front Review words: tomorrow, traveled, answered, took, done. The “words to know” are high frequency words. Your child should be able to read/recognize these words (not spell them). Robust Vocabulary words are: *seized—If you seized something, you grabbed it in a sudden strong way. *tiresome—If something is tiresome, it is boring. *tremendous—If something is tremendous, it is very large and great. *exhausted—If you are exhausted, you are so tired you can hardly move. *outrageous—If something is outrageous, it is different is a shocking way. *patient—If you are patient, you put up with things without complaining. Spelling – Lesson 29 find mind mild cold fold most soon new boy building Religion –Lesson 25 “We Honor Mary and the Saints”. -- The religion book will be sent home the night before the test. Math – Chapter 26 “Length” Math pages will be sent home the night before the test. Phonics – Long Vowels /i/ i, /o/o. Phonograms-ind, -ild, -old Language – Lesson 29 – Using go and Went -- Ex.
