AnnouncementsNovember 16-20 REMINDERS: The Kindergarten classes will be going on a field trip to the Kent House this Thursday, Nov 19th. We will leave school around 8:30 and return by 10:30. Transportation will be by bus. Parents are welcome to meet us at Kent House at 8:45. Please sign the permission slip and send the $2.50 .Children may way their fair t-shirts for the field trip. Please wear a jacket. Our Thanksgiving Feast will be this Friday. If you signed up to send something, please send it either Thursday or Friday A.M. This will be our morning snack for Friday. Please be sure to put YOUR child's name on sweaters, jackets, sweatshirts, coats, etc. before they wear it to school. They get lost very easily and it helps if there is a name in it. Sweaters or sweatshirts (includes crew or zip-up) must be solid navy or white and can be worn at any time. They must be in good condition and fit properly (cannot be oversized). If a logo is present, it must be an OLPS logo. Girls may also wear the solid, navy blue, V-neck sweaters or vests purchased from Caplans. Boys may wear a solid white or solid navy turtleneck under their shirts. Jackets and coats may be any color, but they may only be worn outside. Girls in Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten ONLY may wear the white or navy blue legging that fits snugly and covers the entire leg under their jumpers or smocks. Their socks must cover the hem of the leggings. Girls in grades 1-6 can only wear tights under their jumpers or skirts with or without socks.
Socks: solid navy or white, (NO STRIPES OR LOGOS), crew or knee length. The only ankle sock allowed is the ankle sock with the OLPS logo purchased at Caplans. This 9 weeks, we have some new skills we will be focusing on. Please work on these so that when we check the students, they will be ready: middle sound in 3 letter word final consonants color words counts/identifies/writes numbers to 20 letter sounds for this 9 weeks are, B, K, F,I,G, D,O ___________________________________________________________________________ This week our schedule will include: Reading- we will practice listening for the same sound in words in, word blending, and review the concept of details in a story. We will introduce Bb and Kk sounds. .Review high frequency words : I,go, a , my, to, the, like, he here, come,this . New words to practice are where and do Math- We will contiue writing and grouping numbers 1-20. Social Studies- The First Thanksgiving Religion- Thank You God
