If transportation arrangements change for your child please let me know in
the assignment book. Try not to call the office at the last minute.
Please do not work ahead in the workbooks with your child.
Each afternoon I remind the students what they need to bring home. The
students must bring all materials home with them and will not have access to
the classroom once I leave in the afternoons. Please do not ask anyone to
open my room. This rule is directly from Mrs. Tassin. No exceptions.
Please come to Mass with us on Thursdays, First Fridays, and holy days. You
are welcome to sit with us or you may take your child as we walk into
church. Please try not to come and pull your child out of the class after
we are already in church. Also, please do not pull friends to sit with you.
(Feelings get hurt when someone is left out.)
Please be aware that I begin my class at 7:45. When your child is
later than 7:45 it puts him/her behind in the morning work.
Please have your child to school by 7:45 on Mass days for sure. I leave the
classroom at 7:45 when the first bell rings. If you drop your child off
after this time, please walk your child to the church and make sure he/she
finds our class. This is very upsetting to your child when he is dropped
off and no one is in the classroom.
Listen to your child read orally every night. This is a wonderful gift to
your child! Ask him/her questions about what they are reading. For
example: Who are the characters? What will happen next? What just
happened? How would that make you feel? etc. You will never regret giving
this special time to your child!
Practice basic Math facts everyday. I want them to know their facts
by memory.
Thanks for checking and signing the assignment pad each day. This is
important communication for us! Remember, when you sign that means you have
seen the completed work.
PLEASE LABEL EVERYTHING YOUR CHILD BRINGS TO SCHOOL! The children dress out
in the PE uniform every Tuesday and Thursday. Have the uniform in the
booksack every Tuesday and Thursday. Please label all of their clothing.
You can't believe what we find!
Many people have asked me about bringing the Reader home. YES, bring
the Reader and any other book home at any given time. I do not mind.
Please keep your text books covered. The fabric book covers work best.
We have 3 text books that must be covered.
I do not allow toys at school. Please do not let your child bring
toys to play with at recess. I have had trouble with children playing
too rough with the toys and breaking them. They also lose the toys.
Thank you for your help in this matter.
Please read the Parent Letter carefully. It should answer any
questions you have. If you need something cleared up you may e-mail
me at this site.
