Mission For The Class

Introduction to Business Computer Applications (IBCA)~ 

My mission for Introduction to Business Computer Applications class is to 
increase the speed and accuracy of each students typing skills, introduce 
them to new terminology, introduce the Internet and Internet safety and 
introduce them to the basics of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. At the end of 
the semester students should be prepared to pass the Core Microsoft Word 
Certification Exam. This certification could improve his/her resume and 
possibly transfer as college credit.

Business Computer Applications (BCA)~ 

My mission for Computer Applications class is to teach students each 
component of the Microsoft Office Suite. Students will learn the following 
programs in detail: Microsoft Word Advanced, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft 
Access, Microsoft Powerpoint and Microsoft Outlook. It is also my mission to 
teach students how to effectively conduct a research on the Internet and the 
importance of Internet Safety. I will also touch on computer maintenance and 
troubleshooting. Students should be prepared to pass 3 Core Microsoft 
Certification Exams that could improve his/her resume and possibly count for 
college credit. 

Business Computer Applications II (Advanced)~

My mission for the advanced class is to build on every aspect of the 
Business Computer Applications I class. Students whould be prepared for the 
remainding Microsoft Certification Exams (Advanced) and become a Microsoft 
Office User Specialist.

Desktop Publishing~

My mission for the Desktop Publishing class is to teach the basics of 
computer design. I want my students to experience as many programs as 
possible before they move on to college. We will learn how to manipulate 
graphics in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Office Publisher, Adobe Photoshop, 
Adobe Pagemaker and Adobe Indesign. Students will also use a WACOM tablet to 
input their drawing onto a computer. Students interested in continuing in 
computer design after high school can use their work for a portfolio.

Web Master~

My mission for the Web Masters class is to introduce students to the 
Macromedia Suite. Students will learn how to build and maintain a website 
using Macromedia Dreamweaver. Students will also learn how to use Macromedia 
Flash (animated design) and Macromedia Fireworks (web page design).
