When is the Library open?

7:10 a.m. to 2:50 p.m.
The Library is also open during lunch.
From time to time the Library may be closed due to meetings, testing, or 
inventory.

What are the rules for using the Library?

1.  ID's must be worn and visible to enter the Library.  The students must 
also meet the St. Tammany Parish School Board's dress code.
2.  During class time students must have a signed, dated pass with the time 
and the assigned task noted on it, unless they are accompanied by a teacher.
3.  Students using the Library before school, during lunch, or after school 
are not required to have a pass.
4.  Any student wishing to use a school computer must have a signed "Student 
Instructional Technology Use Agreement" form on file in the school office.
5.  Students may use the Library's computers for school assignments only.  
No video games, email or chat rooms are allowed.
6.  Students are not allowed to bring food, candy, gum or drinks into the 
Library.
7.  Students are asked to speak quietly and respect the rights of others who 
are using the Library for reading or studying.
8.  Students are asked to push in their chairs,remove all personal property 
and dispose of any trash before leaving the Library.

What is the Library's circulation policy?

1.  Only Pearl River High School students are allowed to check out books.  
Students must have their ID badge in order to check out books.
2.  PRHS parents are allowed to check out materials from the Parent Resource 
Center.
3.  Only four books per student are allowed to be checked out at one time 
(Fiction or Non-fiction only - not Reference).
4.  Books are checked out for a two-week period.  Extended checkout times 
are given to students who are working on assigned research topics.
5.  Students may not check out books if they owe an outstanding overdue fine 
or have not paid for a book that has been lost.
6.  Students may renew books as needed.  The student may not be allowed to 
renew a book if another class needs it.
7.  Students are assessed a fine of ten cents per day past the due date 
(weekends and holidays not included) up to the cost of the materials based 
on the current list price.
8.  Students are not allowed to check out Reference materials, Periodicals, 
or Non-Print materials.
9.  Fiction and Non-Fiction books are checked out for two weeks.
10. A special book drop box, which is checked regularly, is located in the 
First Hall(Administration Building)for the students' convenience.
