When are rehearsals?
Rehearsals are always the Wednesday prior to a concert or competition
after school until 5:00 pm. Students need to be picked up in front of the
school promptly at that time. Rehearsals are for a grade and are
mandatory to be included in the concert.
How much water should a singer drink?
Half their body weight in ozs of water daily. Example: singer weighs 100
lbs then they should drink 50 ozs of water daily to keep a healthy voice.
See the article on the Homework page for facts about water and
singers!
Where can I find the throat spray for singers?

What is the best way to contact Mrs. Bagur?
Email! Phone messages don't always get to me in time and I do not
have much time during the school day to return phone calls. I usually
have on average 20 various phone messages to return a day - and very
hard to return all of those promptly. I check email daily and can reply
faster or even in a handwritten note.
Where can I buy Mrs. Bagur's CD
Many stores and online sites have it. But locally owned stores like
Heavenly Gifts, Sonlife, Simple Goodness, Chick-fil-A and the Sound
Shop in the Hammond Mall are all selling the CD single.
What additional music enrichment do you suggest?
I highly suggest each student taking piano lessons to make them a
better vocalist in addition to them being in choir. Attending a variety of
concerts to expose them to different styles of music. Building music
appreciation and the love for music is what is important right now.
How do students get into the Talented Music Program?
Students need to get a form from the guidance office, complete it and
schedule a screening date for the first level. It is a long process, so
start now! Note: this is not a performance based class, only 1-2 small
performances a year. This is not to replace band or choir. Students
only in the talented music program cannot audition for District and State
music events. This is a class that meets once a week for 2 hours and
studies things on a more indvidual basis like history, theory,
composition etc. Mainly for those wanting to be a professional
musicians and/or study on the college level.
How do students get selected to the Advanced Mixed Choir?
This choir is for 8th graders only. Mainly this choir consists of singers
who I've taught before and/or can sight read music well, good vocal
tone and pitch, has experience singing in public, good grades, positive
attitdue, great attendance record for rehearsals and concert in the past ,
responsible and committed to working hard for the FJH choral program.
