May 14th– May 18th
Power Points of the Arboretum–Each student has been working on their own individual power point presentation of our school arboretum. We worked on the laptops this week. They are also working on the computers in the classrooms. TI will keep you informed of the progress. We have one more slide to complete.
April 16th– May 18th“Whatchamacallit Workshop” and “Invention Convention!”– I hope you read the little note about filling up the shoebox. The construction and creating of the inventions will be completed at school. We have been working on creating inventions for the past week and will continue this week.. As I have said before, this is a fun and great way to encourage critical thinking skills, to assess the students’ analytical thinking, their abilities to synthesize information, and to apply newly learned material.

May 22nd– Half Day for Students
May Homework– There will be NO HOMEWORK PACKET this week. Please continue to view their homework folders to see what daily homework may be required. The science experiments along with the presentations have been delayed. I hope to start back this week.

ENGLISH –Unit 6 Story 2 and 5
Grammar Practice–Nouns, Verbs, Adjectives, Pronouns; Daily Language pages
WRITING – STORY OF THE WEEK – picture prompt in reader : We start this at school, but I want them to also write on this at home. The purpose of this is to get the students to write independently. We will continue working on similes and metaphors as well as vivid verbs and exciting nouns. The students are learning to use a thesaurus looking for synonyms for nouns.
GUIDED WRITING – “Our Days in the Arboretum.”These are completed.
TEST- Friday on skills covered; class work evaluations throughout the week on skills covered.
