Riverside ElementaryDear Parent/Guardian, We will end our year with a kickball lesson. This will work on base running and how to get runners out. Wow! I can not believe the year is coming to an end. I have enjoyed all of my P.E. classes this year. Have a safe and wonderful summer. Remember, stay active! Coach Christy
Riverside’s fitness team:
Dylan B. Heaven D. Drew S. Camryn L.
These 4 students have been invited to represent Riverside at the parish fitness meet. The meet will be held at Lakeshore High School on March 3, 2012. Elementary students around the parish have been testing for weeks. Each school tested their students in grades 3 thru 5 on curl ups, chin ups, shuttle run, sit and reach, standing long jump, 50 yard dash and the 600 yard run. This test is truly an overall fitness evaluation. Each test was scored according to the Louisiana Governor’s council on Physical Fitness and Sports. The 2 highest boy’s scores and the 2 highest girl’s scores were invited to compete. We are very proud of Dylan, Drew, Heaven and Camryn as well as all of our students who worked hard taking these test. Hello, my name is Mrs. Christy Jordan. I will be one of the P.E. teachers this year. I will be at Riverside Monday through Friday. In addition, Mrs. Cheryl Blappert will be with us on Mondays. I look forward to teaching the students of Riverside Elementary School. My goal for the year is to make the students more physically active, fit, and skilled. The first step in accomplishing this goal is for me to teach lessons that are highly active and involve a variety of skills. The second step is for the students to have a positive classroom environment in which to learn these lessons. To maintain a positive environment, all students are expected to help the class. Riverside students help the class by: 1. Listen to and following the teacher’s directions. 2. Staying in control at all times. 3. Having a pleasant attitude toward others. 4. Respecting people, equipment, and property of Riverside.
