Parents please be aware that Louisiana law now requires all students 
attending colleges in Louisiana to receive a vaccine for protection against
 It is especially important for those students planning to live 
in dormitories, but is beneficial for all students even while they are in 
high school. The newest vaccine available is called Menactra and should 
provide life long protection.  The vaccine should be available through your 
physician, but be aware not all insurance companies are covering this 
immunization which costs about $120.  It can also be given at the St. Tammany Parish Health Unit which is located on the Northshore Regional Medical Center , 105 Medical Center Drive Suite 101 .  You can contact the health unit at 646-6445.  Be proactive and get your student immunized against meningitis.

*Delgado does require the meningitis vaccine even though students do not live on campus.
