Classroom Procedures
HOMEWORK: Classwork and Homework will be assigned at least 4 days of the week.
Every assignment will be graded.
TESTS: Tests. This will be given when the unit is completed. These will be worth 100 points and will be graded for correctness.
EXAM: A 9 weeks exam will be given covering all material discussed in
the grading period.
MISSED WORK: All homework, worksheets, and tests are to be made up
within five days of returning to class after an excused absence. Extended
illnesses necessitate a meeting between the student, parent(s), and teacher
in order to establish a schedule for make-up work and tests. Because course
material is taught and learned over a week or more, a one-day absence before
a test date is not grounds for not taking the assigned test. The week’s
lesson will be posted on the board in the classroom. It is also posted on
the school’s website at salmenhigh.stpsb.org.
Overall procedures
Students are to know and follow the rules, regulations, and procedures
set forth in the St. Tammany Parish handbook and the Salmen High School
agenda. Students are to come to class prepared every day for classwork. All
supplies identified by the teacher are to accompany the student each day in
addition to any homework and/or preparatory work. It is the responsibility
of each student to pay attention, take notes, and ask questions during
class. If you do not understand what is being taught, it is your
responsibility to ask questions. If further assistance is needed,
arrangements can be made for lunch or after school tutoring. Students are
to use agenda books and/or notebooks to record assignment and test dates.
Failure to make such notations or to read them is not grounds for extending
assignment or test dates.
If you don’t know------ASK.

80% Tests/Homework/Classwork A 92-100
20% Nine-Week Exam B 83-91
