SENIOR TRIP - DISNEY WORLD

CLASS OF 2010 SENIOR TRIP:  (Please view the PTSA calendar for important 
dates to remember)

CALLING ALL SENIORS!  We are now ready to begin making arrangements for the 
Trip.  We are very excited about the school trip, and therefore, want to make 
it an enjoyable one for you. 

ONLY GRADUATING SENIORS CAN ATTEND!!!  YOU MUST BE IN A SENIOR HOMEROOM CLASS.

Total Cost of the Trip will be $475.00. Dates for the trip are Wednesday, 
April 21, 2010 through Sunday, April 25, 2010

Dates for obtaining information and payments are as follows: 

Sign-ups:  Bring in        Tuesday, Oct. 27 through Thursday, Oct. 29
Permission Slip &            ~During lunch in the cafeteria
$175.00 Deposit 
(ONLY time to sign-up to secure a spot)

 2nd Payment Due by:        Tuesday, Dec. 1 through Thursday, Dec. 3
	$150.00                   ~During lunch in the cafeteria     

Final  Payment			Tuesday, Feb 9 through Thursday, Feb 11

Your total cost includes the transportation (by chartered bus), hotel room (4 
to a room with two double beds) includes hot breakfast daily, tickets to Walt 
Disney World Theme Parks, Magic Kingdom Grad Nite, Universal Studios Islands 
of Adventure, Universal Studios, and three meal vouchers.  You will need 
additional spending money for meals, souvenirs, and snacks. 

**YOU MUST PAY A DEPOSIT BY OCTOBER 29, 2009 TO SECURE A SPOT FOR THE SENIOR 
TRIP.  You cannot opt to make full payment at the final deadline.

10:00 PM -  DEPART Salmen on Bus (Sleep on bus)
Baggage and students will be searched; you will load your own luggage on the 
correct bus.  If we find any evidence of drugs, alcohol, or cigarettes, you 
will remain here and face disciplinary actions. No parents, friends, 
siblings, etc… are allowed into the gymnasium. 

Thursday, April 22, 2010
8:00 AM - Stop for Breakfast and freshen up for the day (one hour stop)
11:00 AM  Arrive and spend day at the Walt Disney World Theme Parks
9:00 PM	  Depart from the EPCOT  Transportation Center and head f             
the hotel
10:00 PM  Check into the hotel- Holiday Inn Express Lake Buena Vista
11:30 PM  Room Check and Curfew
		******LUNCH AND DINNER ON OWN (1 Disney Food Voucher)

Friday, April 23, 2010*
8:00 AM - 	Wake Up Call
9:00 AM-	Depart for Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure (1 
Universal Food Voucher)
4:00 PM - 	Back to hotel and get ready for the Grad Nite 
8:00 PM -	Depart for Grad Nite until 2:00 AM Saturday Morning.  The 
park closes and is open all night for only graduating Seniors.  Unlimited 
rides and attractions, as well as top name music performers with multiple 
dance floors scattered around the Magic Kingdom Park. Students must follow 
Grad Nite Policies and Dress Code as established by Disney World.  

Saturday, April 24, 2010
10:00 AM - Check out of hotel and spend afternoon and evening at Disney Theme 
Parks
9:00 PM - Enjoy the Laser and Fireworks Show at Epcot and then board buses at 
(9:30 PM) EPCOT Transportation Center for Salmen (Sleep)
******* LUNCH AND DINNER ON OWN (1 Disney Food Voucher)

Sunday, April 25, 2010
Approximately 8:00 a.m. - Arrive at Salmen - Go home to sleep!!!!!!  

****** Food and drink prices are high at the theme parks. Anticipate $10 per 
meal. 


DISCIPLINE RECORD, ATTENDANCE AND GRADES

Discipline records, absences, and grades will be checked on all participants 
prior to March 2010.  

DISCIPLINE
Seniors with a discipline record obtained during the 2009-2010 school year 
will not be allowed to attend .  A discipline record could include one or 
more of the following:
A)  More than 3 assigned Saturdays
B)  More than 2 assigned InSchool Suspensions (ISS)
C)  Any Suspension(including suspension for not attending Saturday 
detention), 
D) Exclusion for a 4 or 5 category infraction and/or recommendation for 
explusion.
E) Any discipline in lieu of suspension 

ATTENDANCE
	More than 10 absences – unexcused only –Student will not be allowed 
to attend

GRADES
	Failing grade at the end of the first semester in subject needed for 
graduation – Student will not be allowed to attend

PARTICIPATION IN ALL ACTIVITIES 
When you sign up for this trip, you will sign up for the full package. You 
must participate in all activities with the group.

TELEPHONE CALLS
Only incoming calls and room-to-room calls will be allowed on hotel 
telephones. Students will be allowed to bring cell phones, however, they will 
not be allowed to use the cell phones on the bus ride.

MEDICATION: (Prescription and Nonprescription Drugs)
Any prescription or nonprescription (over-the-counter) medication that is to 
be taken by a student on the Senior Trip must have a St. Tammany Parish 
School Board Authorization for Medication Form filled out by a Louisiana 
Licensed Physician or Dentist before leaving on the trip.  Forms may be 
obtained from student services or picked up at the parent meeting.  

FOOD
No student is allowed to bring full meals on the bus. Snacks are okay for the 
bus ride. Remember students do not get off the bus until we reach our 
breakfast stop in the morning. Drinks will be available on the bus. 

ABSENTEEISM!!
This will be a school sponsored event, therefore Thursday, April 22 and 
Friday, April 23 are excused absences (field trip) and will not be counted 
against your attendance record.    However, you are responsible for making up 
the work.  

DRESS CODE: 
Students are to dress according to St. Tammany Parish School Policy with the 
exception of  DISNEY GRAD NITE (See Dress Code for Grad Nite).  Shorts or 
other comfortable attire; comfortable shoes are recommended.  Short shorts 
are a NO, NO!! 


SMOKING AND DIPPING
NO tobacco products on the bus, hotel or any other place while on this trip. 
 
USE OF ALCOHOL/DRUGS, IMMORAL, AND ILLEGAL CONDUCT
YOU WILL BE SENT HOME ACCOMPANIED BY A CHAPERON VIA THE FIRST AVAILABLE MODE 
OF TRANSPORTATION FROM ORLANDO AT YOUR EXPENSE.  YOU WILL BE SUSPENDED FROM 
SCHOOL ACCORDING TO THE ST. TAMMANY PARISH SCHOOL BOARD POLICY.  This could 
result in your not graduating as the discipline action could be through the 
Senior Final Exam Period. 

REFUND POLICY
A REFUND IS NOT GUARANTEED.  If for some reason a student is unable to go on 
the trip once they have signed up, they may obtain an agreement to sell 
form.  Refunds are a percentage based on the number of spots bought and 
sold.  (Example:  if no spots are bought – no refund will be given)  Refund 
policy is on the Sell Agreement form. No Buy or Sell agreement will be issued 
after March 22, 2010.  A student cannot sell his/her spot directly to another 
student.  All paperwork and sales must be through SHS. 

USE GOOD JUDGMENT
Throughout the trip, remember to use good judgment!  If it is inappropriate 
for school, it's inappropriate for this school-sponsored activity. 

SOUVENIR SHOPPING
Security agents are everywhere throughout the Disney/Universal complexes.  
Very few are uniformed.  The person buying a t-shirt next to you may indeed 
be a security officer.  Disney World/Universal will prosecute shoplifters.  
Make sure you keep all receipts for your purchases.  Be on your best 
behavior. 

IN THE HOTEL
Remember to leave everything as you found it.  After entering your room, take 
a few minutes to check for damages (burns, holes, etc.).  Write down anything 
you find and give the sheet to your chaperone, who will periodically check 
your room with his/her key.  Before leaving on Saturday, your room will be 
checked for damages by Hotel Management.  You will be charged for any damages 
to your room or other hotel property. 

GRAD NITE POLICIES AS ESTABLISHED BY DISNEY WORLD

Alcohol/drugs are never permitted in the Magic Kingdom and Grad Nite is no 
exception.  ALL GUESTS ARE SUBJECT TO A FRIENDLY SEARCH BY DISNEY EMPLOYEES.  
Students intoxicated or under the influence of drugs will be taken to 
Security, a chaperon will be assigned to you the rest of the night, and you 
will be returned home by first available mode of transportation at parent's 
expense and will be disciplined according to the St. Tammany Parish School 
Policy.  Disney requires that ALL medication needed for the Grad Nite Party 
must be filled out on a special form with the student's name, dosage prior to 
that night.    If medication is not needed during the hours we will be in the 
Magic Kingdom, simply leave it in the hotel room.  From 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 
a.m., Chaperones will be paged should you need one.  Once the Grad Nite Party 
begins, no one is permitted to leave the Magic Kingdom.
