Welcome to my website! I am thrilled to have your child in my class this year! I want to give you a little information about myself as well as tell you how this website will be helpful this year.

I graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Louisiana State University and a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2011. After completing my student teaching semester at Sixth Ward, I knew that this is where I wanted to be. This is my fifth year teaching, and I have truly grown to love teaching 1st grade.

Below is a brief explanation of each tab on the left:
Weekly Newsletters - Here I will post every week's newsletter. There will be a paper copy of the newsletter in your child's VIP folder at the beginning of each week, but if for some reason you need another copy, it will be here.

Pull-Out Schedule - You can look here for a reminder of what day your child goes to which pull-out. This is important to know especially for P.E. and Library. On P.E. days please make sure your child is wearing appropriate shoes, and on Library days you can remind your child about packing their book the night before.

Websites at Home: These are links that I thought you might want to access at home. If you would like to place a Scholastic order at home, you can find the link here. There are also numerous educational websites and their descriptions listed here as well as on the Owl Station, Crayon Station, and Friday Fun tabs. These are websites that your child will be exploring at school during ELA (owl) and Math (crayon) stations as well as during free rotation time on Fridays. They are more than welcome to get on any of these websites at home!

Email: If you need to contact me, you can email me by clicking on this tab. Also, please feel free to contact me by sending a note in your child's VIP folder or by calling the office and leaving a message. I will get back to you as soon as possible.
