Throughout the year WhaleKids will work with color words, number words,
names of shapes, days of the week, and months of the year in addition to the
lists below. Help at home with these words would be very helpful to your
child. Make flash cards, have your child spell and then write them (in
sand, water, paint, etc). Circle them in the newspaper, point them out on
billboards and in books. Let them make sentences using the words. Play
games with them (hide them around the house and as your child finds them,
they must read/spell/write them). These are just a few ways to make it
meaningful but fun for the whole family.
Below is a list of Storytown sight words for kindergarten:
Your child should be able to read these words and use them when writing.
