Because winding down the year can be a little overwhelming, I wanted to give
you an outline of what is to come in language arts. This is yours to keep. I
will update the website weekly in case I have to change anything for lack of
time.
Creative Writing: We will work on our poetry unit. I am hopeful to get some
fabulous poems out of my poets!

Book order due: April 27th
Reading: One minute oral read. Students will be given a passage from CW of
140 words that must be read with expression and fluency. I will send a copy
for you to have at home to literally take a minute to practice. We also
practice in the class. Assessment will be on Thursday, May 3rd.
We will read In the Year of the Boar and Jackie Robinson by Bette Bao Lord.
There will be a test, AR test, and a journal entry for this assessment. I
have class sets. No need to buy one unless you want to reread at home.
We may have another story from the text and possible “cold” reading tests,
but I will post this as needed.
Bio Bodies and Project due: May 15th. Refer to details sheet how they will
be assessed.
AR and AM deadline: Friday, May 25th. Let’s challenge each other to all
work on completing our goals.
I truly appreciate all you have done to help with this important fourth grade
year. I could not be more proud of how hard they worked during the LEAP
testing days.
