To: Symphonic Band/Chorale Students                                                              Re: Uniforms

Parents,

            All Symphonic Band and Chorale members are required to purchase Symphonic Band/Chorale Uniforms for the 2009-2010 School year.  If your child is a returning member of one or both of these groups, please check to make sure your child’s uniform fits within reason and allows room for any growth spurts that may occur this year. 

            If your child is new to Chorale or Symphonic Band, you must order your Symphonic Band/Chorale uniforms by Sept. 25^th.  The company we use is called Cousin’s Concert Attire.  Their website is www.concertattire.com.  Attached to this sheet is the information you need to locate the proper uniform on the website, along with an order form.  (No child is allowed to wear something similar to the uniforms we use. Every child must have the official SCR Chorale/Symphonic Band Uniform in order to perform.)  Please use the information attached to determine product and size needed.  Size charts are available on the website.

            We will be making 1 bulk order and purchase from Cousin’s Concert Attire on September 25^th.  All orders must be in at this time or your child will NOT have a uniform.  In order to cover the cost of tax and shipping we have added $5 to the cost of each uniform item listed on the website.  Please make your checks out for the appropriate amount to SCR Band Boosters.  All forms and payments must be returned no later than September 25th.

            We look forward to seeing the kids in uniform at our first performance of the year, the Veterans Day Program.  Thank you for all you do to support our Music Program.  Please contact us with any questions.

Symphonic Band/Chorale Uniform

Designated uniform to be purchased at: www.concertattire.com 

Boys:

·         Black shoes (School shoes are acceptable; dress shoes are encouraged.)

·         Black socks

·         Solid  black, unbraided belt with silver buckle and NO ornamentations

·         Black Dress Pants {ITEM 3024P}

·         White Lay Down Collar Dress Shirt with black buttons. {ITEM 937B1,style MO3}

·         Red Bow Ties provided by SCR through John’s Tuxedo

·         Check to make sure you have black button covers on your shirt.  If not, purchase them at John’s Tuxedo!

Girls:

·         Sweetheart Neckline Short Sleeve Swing Dress #403 OR

·         Short  Sleeve  Sweetheart  Neckline  Blouse #22902 and Palazzo Pants SKU: 20776

·         If a camisole is necessary, please wear a black one!

·         Black closed toe shoes of reasonable height. Use your discretion.  If the child cannot walk confidently, comfortably, and carefully enough to safely hold an instrument, the heels are too high!     

·         OFF BLACK stockings, not knee highs!  You can purchase these at Rite Aid/Walgreen’s/Dillards/anywhere that sells hosiery.  (Sheer is not recommended as they rip VERY easily.  Off Black is a color offered by every major hosiery company: Leggs, No Nonsense, etc.)

·         IMPORTANT:  All dresses must be hemmed NO SHORTER than 3 inches below the bottom of the knee when standing.  Dresses must completely cover the knees when sitting.   

          ***Any girl whose dress is not of proper length will not perform.
