Kindergarten Curriculum
RELIGION
Text: We Believe (Sadlier)
This text provides age-appropriate lessons that teach the basic beliefs of
the Catholic Church. Each chapter is gospel-based and gives opportunity for
student response.
READING
Text: Beginning to Read, Write and Listen (Pleasant T. Rowland, Laidlaw
Educational Publishers)
This program integrates reading and handwriting, as well as auditory and
oral language development. It is a multi-sensory program that provides the
students with visual, kinesthetic, and auditory learning experiences.
MATH
Text: Math Advantage (Harcourt Brace & Company)
This series teaches students basic Math concepts such as: sorting and
classifying, patterns, numbers, graphing, money, time, basic addition and
subtraction, etc.
SOCIAL STUDIES
Time Magazine for Kids
SCIENCE
Text: teacher-created units
Basic science and social studies themes are explored throughout the year.
FRENCH
Students will attend French once a week for 30 minutes. The French teacher
is Mrs. Lan Wild.
LIBRARY
Kindergarten students will attend Library once a week for 30 minutes.
Kindergartners do not check out library books. The school librarian is
Larissa Maalouli.
MUSIC
Kindergarten students will attend Music class twice a week for 30 minutes.
The Music teacher is Kristen Dreher.
P.E.
Kindergarten students will attend P.E. twice a week for 30 minutes. The P.E.
teacher is Jean Murphy.
