General Information

It is my pleasure to welcome you and your child to St. Clement of Rome's Pre-Kindergarten! I know that you are just as eager as I am to make your child's school experience be a rewarding one this year!

In order for our class to run smoothly, there are a few guidelines that we ask you to follow:

SCR FOLDERS

The red St. Clement of Rome folder is a very important tool of
communication. Folders should be checked daily and returned the next
school day. Please look over the work that has been done that day. Parental
interest is important in the learning development of your child. All
notices will be sent home in this folder.

LUNCH

Your child may buy a hot lunch or bring his/her lunch. We request that
your child use a lunch box labeled with his/her name if they choose to bring
lunch from home. Lunch will be served daily in the cafeteria. Payment of
lunches is a debit system. A notice will be sent home from the cafeteria
when additional funds are needed in your child's lunch account. If your
child is bringing lunch from home, milk can be purchased from the cafeteria
with available funds in their lunch account.

SNACKS

Your child will have a regular snack time every day. Snacks should be
quick, nutritious finger food that does not make a mess-(please no pudding
or fruit cups). Suggested snacks include: Cheerios, fresh fruit, crackers,
cheese. Please pack snacks in a baggie or paper bag with your child's name
clearly marked. Please pack the snack separate from your child's lunch if
they are bringing lunch from home.

NAP TIME

Your child will have a regular nap time every day. All mats will be
sent home on Fridays to be washed and returned on the next school day.

ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL

Doors open at 7:40AM. All students must use the carpool line to
enter through the main door on Cleary Ave. The school day begins promptly
at 7:55AM and ends at 2:50PM. Children who arrive after the door is closed (8:00
a.m.) need to go to the school office for a tardy slip. Parents should then
walk their child with the tardy slip back to the Pre-K building.

HEALTH

Children who are ill should not attend school. In the event of a
communicable disease the parent should notify the school as to the nature of
the specific disease. A signed note from a physician is required before a
child can be re-admitted to school after a communicable disease.

REPORT CARDS

Report cards are issued in January after the completion of the first
semester and again at the end of the school year. These reports reflect
your child's progress in work habits, readiness skills and social
development.

PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES

Parent/teacher conferences are held twice a year. Each appointment is
scheduled for 10 minutes. If additional time is needed, we can arrange to
meet again at a later date.

ALL SCHOOL MASS

Parents are invited to join us and sit with your child. When facing
the altar, Pre-K sits on the far right side closest to the baptismal font.

MISSION MONEY AND FEED THE HUNGRY

Mission money is collected throughout the year. Please place any
donations in an envelope marked "Missions". Non-perishable food items are
collected the first Wednesday of each month for Feed the Hungry.

BIRTHDAYS

Birthdays will be celebrated once a month. The room mother will coordinate the monthly celebrations. Also, parents are unable to attend due to time constraints. More information will be given at a later date. Also, As stated in the SCR handbook: No birthday invitations should be distributed at school.

If I can assist you at any time concerning your child, please feel free to
contact me. I am looking forward to a successful and fun filled school
year!
