Grading / Testing

QUARTERLY GRADES

Quarterly grades are based on test and quiz grades, and occasional graded
classwork, homework or at-home projects. The total number of correct items
will be divided by the total number of graded items to determine the score.

Example:
Total number of CORRECT = 48
Total number of GRADED items = 60
          48 divided by 60 = 80
Information regarding Quarterly tests will be given at the end of the first
quarter.

TESTS
A test schedule can be found on The Homework Site. Tests in third grade are
given in Religion, English, Math, Reading, Spelling, Social Studies, and
Science by the respective teachers. Graded papers are sent home as quickly as
possible and need not be returned unless specified by the teacher. In the
case of absence, tests are made up the day the student returns to school.
Extenuating circumstances for make-up tests may be explained via written note
or email from the parent in order that other arrangements may be made.

Extra credit is not an option for a disappointing average. However, if a
quarterly average is borderline, the student’s attitude, participation, and
homework can affect the grade either positively or adversely.

Final Grades will be calculated as follows:

Tests/Projects 35%
Quizzes /Homework 30%
Exam 25%
Participation 10%
