Religion:

We will pray for your family every day at gathering time. Look for a chapter

study guide in the religion book and one will also be sent home. The test

will come from the study guide.

Reading:

Look for the vocabulary words in the one red dot notebook. Read the story

every night for review. Make flash cards from words in their notebook for

each story. Save the reading list words in a safe place. Review any reading

packets for skills and vocabulary practice to prepare for the tests. Make

sure your child can read AND comprehend the story.

Language:

We will begin learning study skills using a boy named QUIGLEY. Look in the

yellow notebook to find out more. We will also listen to the Shurley Method

Jingles to learn the parts of speech and parts of a sentence.

Math is FUN! The green dot notebook will be used for math work, and the

workbook for homework. SIGN the page after it has been completed so I know

you have checked and discussed the work.

We will begin with living and non-living things in Science. We also will

learn about maps in Social Studies.

Spelling:

We will copy our spelling words each week in the 2 red dot composition book.

Please review every night. We will have practice tests to help learn these

words. THE BEST WAY TO PRACTICE SPELLING WORDS IS TO WRITE THEM – NOT BY SPELLING ALOUD!
