We will celebrate the completion of the quarter and the start of our Christmas break on Friday. The "party" will begin about 9:30 A.M. The kids will be occupied with carols, videos, etc. early in the day. You are welcome to assist and / or attend the celebration at 9:30. Please check in at the office before coming to the classroom. We'll enjoy refreshments until about 10:10-10:15, then pick up and have dimissal at 10:30A.M.
When we return I will hand out new red folders, 1 gum eraser, 5 pencils, 1 glue stick and a pack of cyayons. These are extra supplies I have saved since the beginning of the year. If your childs needs any other supplies I hope Santa replenishes what your child is missing.

POLAR EXPRESS NEWS
Please pack pajamas (we will wear them on top of our uniform), towel, and a small stuffed animal for THURSDAY, December 17. We will watch the movie The Polar Express. We will wear our PJ's during part of the day to get into the spirit. We have so much fun in 1st grade!
December 16th -Advent All School Mass
Each week we will copy MATH FACTS in the green dot notebook. After we complete the facts to ten, our SPEED DRILLS will begin. This means we move away from using the number line. Our first quiz is on the O FACTS.
Two minutes for 11 addition and two minutes for 11 subtraction facts. The facts are in mixed order and the child takes the quiz from top to bottom without skipping around.
The first few weeks are easy as we know the 0, 1, and 2 facts. Just wanted to give you an opportunity to review.
