What is FOCUS?
The FOCUS program provides academically enriched lessons for high achievers
to extend the curriculum of St. Joseph School.

How does a student become a FOCUS student?
The student must be enrolled in Grades 2-8, maintain A's and B's on their
report card, score in the 85th percentile on the Terra Nova or above-average
on specific aptitude test, be highly motivated, task-committed, and
demonstrate appropriate school behavior.

What if a student gets a grade below B during a grading period?
The student will need to remain in his/her regular class until his/her
grades for the grading period are B's and above.

Can a student rejoin FOCUS?
Yes, provided he/she can meet the criteria again for participating in the
program.

Can a student be asked to leave the program?
Yes, if his/her school behavior is not appropriate, the student will be
dropped from the program.

When will the middle school FOCUS program begin?
The 6-8 grade FOCUS program is under way! We are putting some of the
finishing touches on the curriculum, and hope to begin classes during the 2nd
quarter.
