Mrs. Taliaferro: I come to this school with a wealth of experience and
interest in learning (B.A. from the University of Connecticut and M.A. from
the Monterey Institute of International Studies - currently close to
receiving an M.A.T.from Centenary College). Love of travel and love of
reading have provided me experience and knowledge to tap into. My children
keep me young as they grow old.
Mrs. Waites: This is my first year at St. Joseph's, and I am so excited to be
a part of such a fantastic family! My husband, Michael, and I have been
married for 2 years, and we have a one-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog (like a
St. Bernard). We recently moved to Shreveport from Vance AFB, Oklahoma
(although "home" is Columbia, South Carolina). While at Vance, my husband
finished up pilot training for the Air Force, and I worked as a Pre-K
teacher's aid, as well as a substitute teacher for kindergarten through 5th
grade. In addition to a degree in Sociology, I am in the process of finishing
my teacher’s certification through LSUS. My other professional experiences
include human resources/personnel, and advertising/marketing. Again, I am
just thrilled to be a part of St. Joseph, and I look forward to working with you!
The FOCUS program of St. Joseph's School will develop the potential of
children who demonstrate above-average intelligence, creativity, and task-
commitment in a challenging environment that extends the curriculum of St.
Joseph School.
