Mrs. Creech has been the librarian at C. E. Byrd for the past ten
years. She believes that a good library is the center of a good school and
knows that this is what St. Joseph School is looking for.
Not all books are on the automated catalog yet, but with the help of Mrs.
Falls and Mrs. Seneca, we are adding 25-50 new books a day!
Library policies will now allow children to check out as many books as they
need, including reference books. (Of course, we will take library fines.)
Only videos will be off limits.
The library is open before and after school for both students and parents.
Our library media program endeavors to ensure that students and staff
are effective users of ideas and information. We strive to accomplish this
mission by: providing intellectual and physical access to information and
ideas for a diverse population whose needs are changing rapidly; providing
learning experiences that encourage users to become discriminating consumers
and skilled creators of information; providing resources and activities that
contribute to lifelong learning; promoting literacy and the enjoyment of
reading, viewing, and listening for young people at all ages and stages of
development; providing a facility that functions as the information center
of
the school.
