FOR THE WEEK OF: 10/6 to 10/10

SPECIAL SCHOOL EVENTS THIS WEEK:

8th GRADE PARENTS:

*Be watching this part of my site for information on Confirmation.

(MANDATORY) CONFIRMATION MEETING: SUNDAY, SEPT. 28 AT 10:45 TO 11:45 IN THE
FLC. If you missed this...
Deacon Bill will send packets about this year's Confirmation program.

10 Service hours should be acquired this 1st half of the year and 10
starting in January and finishing up by May.

Remember, if your child worked at VBS this past summer, he may claim up to 5
of those hours toward Confirmation.

ALTAR SERVING AND LECTORING MAY count
for 1 service hour each, if candidate has actually served this school year
as either an altar server or a reader. However, it can only be counted as 1
hour even if they've served many masses and the same with reading, just 1
hour can be claimed even though they may have read at many masses.

One of the ideas behind required service work during Confirmation
preparation is to get the candidates thinking and doing for others. So the
above are just a few ideas.

CONFIRMATION DATE: APRIL 4, 2009 4 PM

PARENTS: Please encourage your student to keep an assignment notebook.

Next one : Who loves you the most after God? Your parents! Honor them.

Next 4 - one word commandments: Don't - kill, steal, cheat, lie

Last 2 - Don't covet: your neighbor's spouse or his things.

* If your child put in MORE THAN his REQUIRED 3 hours for the Carnival,
they may claim those EXTRA hours as service up to a maximum of 5. See me if
you feel your child worked much more than 5 (that would mean actually having
worked more than 8 hours because the first 3 were required and do not count
toward Confirmation Service hours) and would like to have those hours also
considered.
Remember, if your child worked at VBS this past summer, he may claim up to 4
hours toward Confirmation.

* * Another change * * AT THIS TIME, ALTAR SERVING AND LECTORING MAY count
for 1 service hour if candidate has actually served this school year as
either an altar server or a reader.
