Hello Parents!
I just wanted to send out a quick reminder that there is no school next Friday, October 16! Enjoy your fall break!!
Ms. Lansdale =)
Big Announcement!!!
I am happy to announce that UES is getting another new first grade teacher! As you know, our class sizes are quite large, and now we will all be able to have smaller classes! My class will now have 19 children instead of 23! It really makes a big difference. We will have more space in our classroom to spread out and more time for individualized instruction!
The four children who will be moving received a letter of notice on Thursday and will have an opportunity to meet and greet their new teacher this Sunday afternoon. See your notice for details. They will report to their new classroom on Monday September 21.
Thanks,
Ms. Lansdale =)
My work e-mail has been set up! I respond very readily to e-mail, so I encourage you to correspond with me this way.
The address is: ajlansdale@caddo.k12.la.us
I hope to hear from you soon!
P.S. We are still working on the class phone.
Wildcat Parents and Students, welcome to my classroom page!
Here you will find weekly homework assignments, the supply list, the daily schedule, my contact information, and anything else that you need to know.
Please know that this site is still under construction, so bear with me!
I am looking forward to a successful, fun-filled year!

Week of August 31 to September 4
Dear Parents,
This is the week that we will begin the StoryTown reading series! Your child will really be working hard on phonics, phonemic awareness, spelling, grammar, and writing from now until the end of the year.
Every week your child will bring home a list of the week's spelling words. Your child should practice spelling and writing these at home. I will post the spelling words on this website every week in case the list gets lost.
Our story for this week is called "Let's Tap!" on pp. 28-41 of their reading books. We will read this story only once or twice, so your child should re-read the story at home a few times. However, we will not test on the story every week.
It's going to be a wonderful week!
P.S. Don't forget: Next Monday, September 7 is Labor Day and the school will be closed!
