Do I have to be a talented artist to make a good grade in this class?

No, Art 1 is for beginners. Most of your grade depends on the effort that
you put into your work and your participation in class. Following
directions, putting forth effort and creativity are the best ways to make
good grades in Mrs. Bradley's classes.

Do we have to take notes and tests?

Yes, however, not very often. In art there are many terms that we use
everyday that we must be familiar with. This helps us to expand our art
vocabulary and enables us to write descriptively and/or explain what we
see. This class is not playtime and students are expected to treat it with
the same respect as they would other classes. It is, however, a time to
relax and unwind while working on projects.

Please explain the six weeks participation grade!

Each six weeks every student has the possibilty of earning 300 points for
participation in class (work on projects, bringing supplies to work, etc.
equals 10 points per day.) I will start each student out with 300 points
each six weeks and if they lose points on a particular day, I will deduct
them. This will explain a drop in points or change in grade if you are
checking your student's grades online. As long as students bring required
work and materials to class, have good attitudes, participate in class and
work on projects in class, they should have an excellent participation
grade. This grade can really help or hurt a student. I am very fair when
it comes to this grade. If you get a poor participation grade it is because
you earned it.
