Fri. - Present designs to class. Modify if needed.

Week of 4/21/08

Lesson:  Landscape Design

Monday - Using ProLandscape, make a design that includes the elements given in the rubrics provided. Due Wed. (50)

Tues. - cont.

Wed. - cont. Due at end of hour

Thurs. - Peer review of designs, redo if needed

Fri. - Lab: Replace pansies in front bed with warm-loving vincas

Week of 4/14/08

Lesson:  Design Process

Mon. - Check on newly planted beds, front beds - weeds, water

Tues. - Designing formal areas / Use principals of design to construct formal front entrances, using practice house 13. Use rubrics given in Commandments of Landscape Design.

Wed. Complete design.Save file by date.

Thurs. - Peer review of designs, based on rubrics given. Rework design if needed. Begin informal design, based on rubrics given, on house 13.

Friday - Complete design. Peer review. Rework as needed.

Lesson:  Design Principles, cont.

Mon. - check on newly planted beds, front beds - weeds, water

Tues. - add mulch to beds

Wed. - Play

Thurs. - film: Principles of Landscape Design - discuss film, Field Trip - Zachary landscapes

Fri. - Career Day

Week of 3/3/08

Lesson:  Design prinicples, cont.

Mon. - Landscape front long beds / Place annuals in beds, keeping in mind elements of design, 20 pts - skills and participation

Tues. - complete beds, add mulch, 20 pts.

Wed.- Fri.  - Design principles / Outline and describe the principals of design and tell how they are incorporated into landscape designs /  notes, class discussion, Activity:  find examples in gardening magazines, use ProLandscape to practice each design principles  (5-20 pts for practice activities)
