assignment choice: Imagine you are either character.  Write a monolouge 
reavealing the secrets from the past that 1)explain your despair (caused 
it), 2) sttemps to overcom it and 3) outlook on your future.  This should 
take more than a page to explain properly.

poems: “A Sight in Camp in the Daybreak Gray and Dim” and “Beat! Beat! 
Beat!” Began W. Whitman poem assignment #2: Write the message as a newspaper 
entry instead of the poem that it is.  For example, “…Camp…” could be a 
newspaper article describing the scene (remember to make sure the message of 
the last body is explained like Whitman) and “… Beat!...” as a newspaper 
editorial.  Be descriptive and detailed, just like Walt Whitman.
