All About Me

Zachary is my home. In 1977 I graduated from Zachary High. College and I
did not get along, so I went to work at Louisiana National Bank, got married
and had three children. 1987 found me living in Oklahoma and trying my hand
at substitute teaching. It was fun! The Chickasaw Nation, of which I am
decendent, was kind enough to help me go back to school. Texas became my
home in 1992 and Texas Women's University offered me a scholarship and a
job. Finally in May 1995 I graduated from TWU, Magna Cum Laude, with a
Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics.

My first job was at Irving High School in Irving, Texas, home of the Dallas
Cowboys. I taught Algebra and learned Spanish. The enrollment at the
school was about 2400 students and gang members! After 1 year, I began to
teach in Podunk, I mean Pilot Point, Texas. There the enrollment was about
300 students. I taught Algebra I, Algebra II, TAAS Math, Math of Money, and
Calculus. Then I came home.

I have been back in Zachary now for 9 years. The subjects I have taught
since being here are Applied Math I, Applied Math II, Remedial Math, Block
Algebra I, Geometry, Honors Geometry, Algebra II, Advanced Math and
Calculus. I have been head of the Math Department for three years now.

All three of my children have graduated. I have three grandchildren.
Kaitlyn is 5, Caden is 3 and Afton is almost 3. Since my children stay busy,
sports take up the majority of my 'free' time. Keeping stats and keeping up
with eligibility for ALL athletes as ZHS are my major responsibilities.
Tennis coach is also a 'title' I have but I depend on compentent coaches to
do most of the work. I love being a part of the students extracurricular
activites as much as I love teaching them.

I am an avid NASCAR fan. One question that is always on a test in my class
during the month of February is "Who won the Daytona 500?" Reading junk
novels is my way to relax.

Mission

Never give up!!!
