I am so happy to be here at Zachary High! I LOVE teaching English and I LOVE
interacting with students. This is my thirteenth year of teaching. I have
taught all grade levels of regular high school English, plus English I and
English III honors. This year I am teaching English I in the Freshman
Academy on the "Blue Team," along with Ms. Congine, Mr. Thompson, and Mrs.
Byrd. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education/English from
Louisiana State University. (Go Tigers!)
I have been happily married to my high school sweetheart, John, for 18
years. We have two children, Brianna, 12, and Chandler, 9. My hobbies
include reading, swimming, baking, and traveling. I love musical theater
and have seen several Broadway productions such as Phantom of the Opera, Les
Miserables, Miss Saigon, Beauty & the Beast, 42nd Street, Thoroughly Modern
Millie, Oklahoma, Mama Mia, and Mary Poppins. I am looking forward to
another great year in "Bronco Land"!
My mission is to sharpen students' skills in reading comprehension, writing,
and grammar. Improving these essential skills will help the students to be
successful in future English classes and to be prepared for the iLeap and
GEE tests.
