Description:  This course is designed to help students enhance their 
knowledge of mathematical applications and to increase their understanding 
of how to apply and relate algebraic concepts to geometry, statistics, data 
analysis, probability, and discrete mathematics. 

Goals:  
•	Students will learn algebraic concepts and applications 
          that will enhance their knowledge and computations of 
mathematical     
          operations, advance algebra, measurement, geometry, data, 
          probability, and discrete mathematics.  

•	Students will learn and prepare for national and state mandated 
standardized test (LEAP, GEE, and IOWA). 

Requirement(s):   All students must complete the following requirement in 
order to maintain “good standing” in Algebra I: completion and passing grade 
of all tests (weekly standardized test, unit test, mid-term, and final 
exams); students must participate in daily lessons/discussions; and complete 
all projects and unit assignments.

60%:  all tests, projects, and presentations
30%:  homework and class participation

Resources:
•	 Students  must bring in all class materials daily. 
•	Students must also be able to access online web site for regular 
assignment   
•	and homework purposes. 

Class Rules and Regulations: 

1.  No talking while the teacher is talking. 
2.  No eating or chewing gum in class. 
3. No distractions what so ever is permitted during class. 
4. No heads down or sleeping in class. 
5. No tardies, no excuses, no exceptions. 

Remember to always “Do the Right Thing”.
