Doc comes to Zachary High School after receiving his B.A. degree in
Kinesiology with an emphasis in athletic training from Southeastern
Louisiana University (May 2003). He is certified by the National Athletic
Trainers Association Board of Certification and licensed by the Louisiana
State Board of Medical Examiners. Doc was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana
and is married to Mrs. Tracy Stanton from Pensacola, Florida. Career
highlights include winning the 4A state baseball championships in 2007 and
2008. They have two children, Christian and Sydney. Doc is an active
member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, Southeastern Athletic
Trainers Asssociation,and Louisiana Athletic Trainers Association. This is
his 6th year at ZHS and his 3nd year teaching.
It is the mission of Zachary High School's athletic training program to
provide extensive health care to all student athletes competing in school
sponsored sports. Zachary High provides student athletes with a certified
athletic trainer. The athletic training program is affiliated with several
community physicians in order to provide quality health care. In support of
this statement, the student athletes will receive the following:
1. Injury prevention
2. Emergency medical care
3. Injury evaluation
4. Injury classification
5. Injury management
6. Injury rehabilitation
