We will have a test on the Europe unit, Friday December 7th. 

Create a timeline of the history of Europe. The time frame is from 1000 BC 
to        2007 AD.  You need to include at least 20 entries in the 
timeline.  Write the date and a description of the event in each entry. Due 
Monday, December 3rd
I would number 1-20 and do the timeline in order going down so you have room 
to describe the events. (I am looking for more detail than just naming the 
event)


2 page reflection On the movie Schindler's list is due on Thursday November 
29th. 
*You should write about what you saw in the movie, how it made you feel 
and what you learned from it.

Travel Brochure activity due on Nov. 1
Students, make a travel brochure for one Latin American country. Try to 
create a brochure that would make someone want to visit the country you 
choose. 

Native American Empires Chart Due Monday, october 29.
Students, create a chart comparing the 3 ancient Native American empires in 
terms of location, accomplishments, culture, etc. 
Then write a 1-2 page response comparing the cultures.

Create a 20 question test on your own using the review I gave in class. Due 
thursday October 11. 

Comparison of the Government of the US and Canada due Tuesday October 2.
Write a one – two paragraph comparison of the governments of the US and 
Canada. 
Be sure to compare the three branches of government. ( executive, 
legislative, Judicial)


Choose one of the following migrations dealing with the U.S. – 1st great 
migration; 2nd great migration; African migration during colonial times; 
Indian migration westward; European migration to the U.S. in the early 
1900’s.  Write a PAGE telling what took place during the migration and why

Conclusions essay, Due Friday August 31
					
Students, write a 1-2 page essay in which you draw conclusions of how 
Louisiana’s location, topography, climate, natural resources, and other 
physical characteristics have affected human activities and shaped the 
significance and history of the region. (Examples: the Louisiana Purchase, 
Civil War, etc.)

Five themes essay Due Thursday August 16
Write a 1-2 page essay describing Zachary High School or the city of Zachary 
using the five themes 
of geography.  For location, describe Zachary high Schools absolute and 
relative location. For place, describe the physical characteristics of the 
school such as landforms, climate, animal life and human characteristics 
such as religion (what churches are here) and what populations live here 
(ethnicities, etc.).  For movement, describe why people would and have moved 
to Zachary.  For Human/environment interaction, describe how and where 
humans 
have settled into the environment and what industries are here that affect 
environments. For region, describe what region of the country and state we 
are in. (Talk about some of the characteristics of the culture and way of 
life here.)

Geographical information Survey, due Wednesday, August 22

Students choose a country to research and find geographic information about 
( location, population, natural resources, languages, religions, ethnic 
groups, types of governments, economic systems, imports and exports, etc.) 
List the information ( at least 12 items) and create a chart, diagram or 
graph which explains a 
geographic issue related to that country. (at least 2 charts, or graphs)
