About The Teacher
Welcome Students, Parents, and Fellow Teachers! My name is Susan Lewis, and I teach the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade English classes at Houma Christian School in Houma, Louisiana. This is my 13th year to teach at HCS though I have nineteen previous years of experience in the areas of special education and speech therapy, mostly in Missouri and Alabama. I am also the faculty sponsor for the school yearbook. Outside of teaching I love to read, write, watch movies, cook, eat, and travel. Jesus Christ has been the Lord of my life since high school, but each year has provided opportunities to learn more from and grow closer to Him, and I pray that I will always make the most of those opportunities. My favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:6-7 "Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything with prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God which passes all understanding will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." Two new verses that I have fallen in love with are Galatians 5:1,6 (1)"It is for freedom that Christ has set you free. Stand firm then and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery; (6)The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love!
