Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic School

2017-2018 School Year

Dear 4th Grade Math Parents and Students,

Welcome to Our Lady of Prompt Succor School. As we come together to
begin a new school year, I would like to share with you some of my
expectations. Christian behavior is expected at all times with peers,
faculty, and staff. Students must bring supplies, textbooks, notebooks, 2
sharpened pencils, red pen, and homework to class daily. Students will
always be informed of how and when work is to be completed. Time in class
will sometimes be given for the student to begin his or her work. The
following outline should help to ensure a successful school year for us all.

HOMEWORK

1. Homework will be given daily. It may consist of written work, silent
reading,and/or studying. Homework assignments are due the next day, unless
noted differently.

2. Homework will be averaged as one test grade each nine weeks period.
All homework assignments must be completed showing all work. It gives a
student the practice necessary to master the skill covered in class.

3. Each student begins the nine weeks with 100 points in homework. If a
student does not complete his or her homework, a five point deduction will
be made for each incomplete or missing homework.

4. If a student is absent, he or she has the responsibility of getting all
assignments and completing them in a timely manner.

TESTING AND GRADING POLICIES

1. The nine weeks grade will come from homework and tests.

          Homework	              		=	1 test grade

Average of homework and test grades	=	100%

2. Math test grades will be posted on Plus Portal in a timely manner.
All graded math papers will be sent home on Wednesdays. They must be
returned the very next day, Thursday.

3. Tests will be announced two to three days in advance. There is no
set schedule for tests.

I am looking forward to this challenging and successful school
year. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to let
me know. If a problem arises, please send a note or call the school office
and leave me a message. I will get in contact with you. Your cooperation
is essential and greatly appreciated. Let’s work together to build and
complete a positive and productive school year.

					Sincerely,

					Ms. Janine Jacomine
