WELCOME TO THE SPANISH CLASS !!!
4th Nine Weeks
WE
EKS 5, 6 MAY 2-5/// STUDENTS WILL REVIEW SENTENCES WRITING AND WILL BECOME FAMILIAR WITH THE FOOD VOCABULARY PHRASES BY CREATING A POSTER MENU. THEY WILL ALSO HAVE A REWARD PARTY FOR CINCO DE MAYO. THEY WILL CONTINUE TO WORK ON PINATAS ALSO.
Week 4 :4/4-4/8/2011 Level one students will learn verb tener and phrases and will practice it verbally by traslating and composing a conversation.
Level 2 students will review chapter 7 verbally and will understand vocabulary from chapter 8 relative to food.
Week 3 :3/28-4/1/2011 Level one students will learn verb tener and phrases and will practice it verbally by playing the go fish card game.
Level 2 students will review chapter 7 verbally and will become familiar with chapter 8 vocabulary words relative to food.
Week 2: 3/21-25 This week students will finish their cultural float and will reveiw phrases with verb to have and facial parts.
Level 2 will continue to practice chapter 7 vocabulary verbally.
Level 1: Students will practice and review listening and comprehension skills using previous vocabulary words. Also, they will learn facts about latino countries and will make a carnival float.
Level 2 kids will review grammar and vocabulary related to previous vocabulary lists starting with chapter 7 on the orange book.
3rd Nine Weeks
Week 9 : 2/28-3/3 Students will complete and make up assignments relative to facial description vocabulary and will make latin carnival masks and present them verbally.
Week 7: 2/14-18 Level 1 ,2 will learn vocabulary related to Valentine's Day in Latin America and Spain and will make papel picado art relevant to this celebration.
They will practice reading and comprehension using the numbers vocabulary. They will also become familiar with the feelings and facial features vocabulary.
Week 6: 2/7-11 Students will practice reading, comprehension, and verbal skills using numbers phrases and vocabulary.
Level 2 will practice and understand verbs from chapter 5.
Week 5-- 1/31-2/4 Level 1 : Students will practice listening and comprehension skills, and learn cultural aspects by watching a portion of Quinceanera video ( sweet Fifteen) and the Lion King in Spanish.
They will also become familiar with the numbers from 1-100 through the use of sheets and online activities.
Level 2 : Also, they'll practice the verbs and sentence writing from Chapter 5.
Week 4-- 1/24-28 : Students will learn about about Spain and art by making a Picasso poster. They will revieve the ABC and question making and answering through story telling.
Level 2: They will practice reading and vocabulary from Chapter 5.
Week 3 1/17-21 Level 1: This week they review cultural aspects ofGuatemala and Spain. they will make Guatemala bracelets and a Picasso poster to practice listening and phrases.
Level 2: Students will also be introduced to chapter 5 vocabulary on daily activities.
Week 4-- 1/24-28 : Students will learn about about Spain and art by making a Picasso poster. They will revieve the ABC and question making and answering through story telling.
Level 2: They will practice reading and vocabulary from Chapter 5.
Week 2: 1/10-14 level 1: Students will identify the alphabet in Spanish. They will use another language, American SignLanguage, to help them remember and say the Spanish ABC"s. LEVEL 2: They will review chapter 4, giving directions,going places, and verb conjugations.
Week 1: 1/3-7/2011 --level 1 &2 -- Students will review past vocabulary phrases through reading and verbal activities. They will also practice listening in Spanish by making Poinsetta flowers, natives from Mexico.

WEEK 1: LEVEL 1/2 ; STUDENTS WILL PRACTICE LISTENING AND COMPREHENSION, READING,SENTENCE IDENTIFICATION ON THE LAST TWO CHAPTERS (REVIEW) GREETINGS, INTRODUCTIONS, ROOM ITEMS.
tHEY WILL ALSO HAVE A SPECIAL ACTIVITY TO REMEMBER hISPANIC MONTH.
WEEK 2: 10/18-22 LEVEL 1,2 STUDENTS WILL USE VOCABULARY 1,2 ( INTRODUCTIONS) IN A VERBAL CONVERSATION AND EXERCISES. THEY WILL IDENTIFY AND USE THE ANIMALS VOCABULARY BY CREATING A GROUP 3D POSTER.
WEEK 3: 10/25-29 LEVEL 1,2 : STUDENTS LEVEL 1,2 STUDENTS WILL USE VOCABULARY 1,2 ( INTRODUCTIONS) IN A VERBAL CONVERSATION AND EXERCISES. THEY WILL IDENTIFY AND USE THE ANIMALS VOCABULARY BY CREATING A GROUP 3D POSTER.
ALSO, THEY'LL DO AN ACTIVITY ABOUT CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS DAY

WEEK 4: 11/01-05 LEVEL 1,2 : STUDENTS WILL CONTINUE AND COMPLETE THEIR CLASSROOM PROJECT ON THE ANIMALS VOCABULARY. INSTRUCTIONS WERE REVIEWED AND POSTED IN THE CLASSROOM. THEY WILL ALSO UNDERSTAND THE SENTENCE AGREEMENT IN THE SINGULAR FORM USING COLORS AND ANIMALS WORDS.
LEVEL 2: ADDITIONALLY, THEY WILL BECOME FAMILIAR WITH CHAPTER 3 ON SCHOOL, TIME, CLASS SUBJECTS.
WEEK 5; 11/8-12 LEVEL 1 ; THEY WILL USE THE ANIMAL VOCABULARY TO WRITE SIMPLE SENTENCES USING COLORS. THEY WILL ALSO REVIEW AND RECOGNIZED THE VOCABULARY IN A SPOKEN FORM.
LEVEL 2: THEY WILL REVIEW THE ANIMALS VOCABULARY. THEY WILL BECOME FAMILIAR WITH CHAPTER 3 LIST ON TIME AND SCHOOL SUBJECTS.
week 6: 11/15-19 LEVEL 1: pRACTICE READING AND COMPREHENSION USING COLORS, ANIMALS, ADJETIVES. UNDERSTAND ADJECTIVES AND SENTENCES AGREEMENT.
LEVEL 2: PRACTICE READING USING ANIMALS AND COLORS, AND TIME( CHAPTER3)
WEEK 7 11/30-12/03 LEVEL 1: STUDENTS WILL PRACTICE READING AND COMPREHENSION USING COLORS, ANIMALS, ADJETIVES. UNDERSTAND ADJECTIVES AND SENTENCES AGREEMENT. LEVEL 2: PRACTICE READING USING ANIMALS AND COLORS, AND TIME( CHAPTER3)
WEEK 8 : DEC. 6-10
LEVEL 1- STUDENTS WILL LEARN ABOUT HOLIDAY TRADITIONS IN SPAIN AND LATIN AMERICA. THEY WILL LEARN VERB TO HAVE(TENER) AND PRACTICE IT VERBALLY, IN WRITING, AND READING.

LEVEL 2: THEY WILL LEARN ABOUT HOLIDAY TRADITIONS; REVIEW CHAPTER 3 TIME NAD BECOME FAMILIAR WITH CHAPTER 4.

WEEK 2: 8/16-20 INTRODUCTION,PROCEDURES, SIMILAR WORDS
STUDENTS WILL BECOME FAMILIAR WITH CLASS EXPECTACTIONS AND WILL RECOGNIZE WORDS SIMILAR IN SPANISH AND ENGLISH
LEVEL 2 : REVIEW PRELIMINARY CHAPTER BY IDENTIFYING PHRASES AND SPELLING WORDS.( THE ALPHABET, COLORS, NUMBERS, PHRASES, SEASONS, CALENDAR)
WEEK 3 8/23-27 LEVEL 1: BE ABLE TO RECOGNIZE SIMILAR WORDS IN A VERBAL CONTEXT AND CREATE SIMPLE SENTENCES. LEVEL 2: REVIEW PRELIMINARY AND GREETINGS CHAPTER. RECOGNIZE SENTENCES STRUCTURES, PRACTICE COMPREHENSION, AND PRONUNCIATION.
Week 4 8/30-9/3 LEVEL 1: Students will continue to work on 2 small projects from Mexico and Panama. Also, this week they'll use previous vocabulary to write and to use more sentences(mini story) verbally. LEVEL 2: Students will continue to work on 2 small projects from Mexico and Panama. They will also practice listening and comprehension and will write a small letter using the vocabulary on chapters 0 and 1.
Week 5 9/7-10 LEVEL 1: Students will continue to work on sentence formation and listening and comprehension. Also, they will be learning about Guatemala and wil be making Guatemala bracelets. LEVEL 2: Students will practice listening and comprehension and reading using chapter uno, greetings
Week 6-- 9/13- 17 LEVEL 1: Students will continue to work on Guatemala bracelets and to develop more team work in class. They will also start on the greetings vocabulary and then create a small conversation in pairs to be recited in class. LEVEL 2: Students will continue to work on Guatemala bracelets and to develop more team work in class. They will also review the greetings vocabulary, chapter 1, and then create a conversation in pairs to be recited in class.
WEEK 7 9/ 20-24 LEVEL 1: Students will identify the greetings vocabulary verbally and practice reading and listening. LEVEL 2: Students will identify the greetings vocabulary verbally and practice reading and listening. Also, they will become familiar with vocabulary 2 on school
supplies.
WEEK 8: 9/27-30 LEVEL 1,2: STUDENTS WILL GET THE STUDY GUIDE ON WED.,9/29. THEY WILL GO TO THE COMPUTER LAB TO PRACTICE MAKING A POWERPOINT USING THE CURRENT VOCABULARY.
A FUNDRAISER TO RAISE MONEY FOR THE HISPANIC MONTH, WILL START ON THURSDAY,OCT.30 FOR VOLUNTEER STUDENTS.
