| Welcome to Room 25's Webpage!
Here's what is happening in our classroom...
Happy February! Let's make this world a kinder place! A calendar was
sent home at the beginning of the month with ideas of things that one can do
to make a difference in someone's life. Students are asked to try to
complete 2 kind acts weekly during the month of February. A kind act goes a
long way, so let's make a difference! :)
Here's a brief overview of what we will be learning over the next few weeks:
In Reading we will continue working on our fourth theme
entitled "Problem Solvers." A problem is nothing more than a solution
waiting to be discovered. We will be reading various selections where
characters face problems that they need to solve.
In math, we will be focusing on fractions. Both chapteres 19 and 20 focus
on fractions. In chapter 20, we will be learning how to add and subtract
fractions with both alike and different denomiators. We will also be doing
some problem solving involving fractions.
In Social Studies, we will continue learning about the Southern region
of the United States. What makes this region so different than the rest of
the country? Your child will find out soon!
In Science, our focus is on Engineering & Design. Students will be
working in groups to design and build a special contraption that will
protect an egg from being crushed when dropped. Will their design be a
success? Only our experiment will have the answer!
