This month we will be learning to: count to 100 by 1s and 10s, identify 3D shapes like a cube, cylinder, sphere and cone, addition and subtraction, and sentence dictation. We are practicing listening to a given sentence, counting how many words are in the sentence and then writing the sentence down using an uppercase letter at the beginning of the sentence, spaces in between our words and the appropriate punctuation mark at the end of the sentence. Our new theme for the next month will be "plants!" Please make sure to send back the homework packet
at the end of the month
.
Please remember to sign up for the kindergarten spring parent-teacher conference. They will be on Thursday May, 31st and Friday, June 1st.
Here is the link to sign up online. scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the drop down menu and select "Peirce"
If you are having difficulty please contact the school secretary and she can assist you. Only kindergarten has a spring conference grades 1-5 do not.
You can now find all of the computer games for each month under "Monthly Computer Games" in the list on the left side of this webpage. Each month will have computer games on topics we are learning that month. Refer back to past months to brush up on some old skills too!
Since the children are now allowed to borrow books from the library, they need to remember to bring the book back to school on Wednesdays so they are able to get another book. If you do not bring your book back you will not be allowed to take out another book until you bring it back.
If you are interested in helping out during work board (Mon-Thur 10:05-10:55) we would love to have a parent come in and help out. If you can commit weekly or just once, both are greatly appreciated! Please send us an email if you are interested.
We don't have anyone scheduled to be
the "Mystery Reader" so if you are available on a Friday from 1:45-2 to come in and read a story or 2 to the class please send us an email! (This can also be grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, etc.)

We had an assembly where famous artist Rob Surette performed his "Amazing Art Hero" act. Rob is from Arlington and does amazing art! Rob was featured on Oprah, The Today show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Good Morning America, NBC Evening News and Chronicle. We saw him paint a huge portrait of Abraham Lincoln, Mother Theresa, and he painted a portrait of Martin Luther King Jr, upside down, with his bare hands!
Check out his website to see his amazing work!
If you're child wears rain or snow boots to school, please pack a pair of sneakers or shoes for them to change into.* Especially on Gym days! * (Monday & Thursday)
Please make sure to call the "Safe Arrival/Absentee line" at (781) 316-3298
if you're child is going to be absent. You must call the school before 7:45 AM and leave the following information: Child's name, your name, child's teacher(s) and the reason for absence. Since there is an answering machine, please contact the school as soon as you know your child is going to be absent, even the night before.

If your child is not getting picked up by the person that was written
down on the pick-up chart in September (or if they normally are supposed to go to Mrs. T's that day) please write us a note (
as well as Mrs. T a note
if your child normally goes to Mrs. T's on those days) in the yellow "Parent-Teacher Communication Book" that should be kept in the folder. If you write a note we ask that you just leave the book open so we know to check it. Thanks!
