Dear Parents of 4th Graders for the 2017-18 School Year,

We would like to welcome you to the wonderful world of 4th grade at Center School. Your children are going to grow up right before your eyes and become even more wonderful. They will be taking responsibility for themselves in so many areas of their lives, BUT they still need you!

An important goal for us is to make sure that there is frequent and positive communication between home and school. It has been our experience that kids, who know home and school are cooperating for their benefit, seem to work harder, take learning more seriously, and strive to do their best. In order to achieve this goal, we will be providing each child with an Agenda Notebook for the recording of daily assignments. We ask that you check your child’s Agenda Notebook each night. In addition, you will receive your child’s grades every Friday. Please sign and return the Friday Folder every Monday. An extremely valuable resource will be your child’s teacher’s Web Page. You can find the links for each teacher’s page on the Center School Web Page.

Along with daily reading, be sure to read the summer reading Many Books, One Community. The theme will be Build a Better World. We expect that your child will continually review their math facts in all four of the basic operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. This reinforcement will be beneficial to him/her, as we progress through our math curriculum. Your child can still access their IXL account over the summer, so please take advantage of this wonderful resource.

We are excited about the upcoming school year. We welcome any information or suggestions that you feel could help your child have a fabulous 4th grade experience. We are a team and together we can make a difference in your child’s life. If you did not order supplies through the P.T.O., please send the following supplies:
