Dear Parents and Students,
With the halfway point of the year just around the corner, I've been
doing some evaluating and reflecting upon the progress students are making
with their independent reading and writing. Many have made great strides
and taken full ownership of their topics for writing and choices of reading
materials. Some are showing beginning signs of this ownership and being
able to direct their own choices. Others still seem "stuck" or mystified by
the purpose of these choices and are having trouble self-starting their
writing and reading. With all of these groups in mind, I have generated a
list of writing prompts to post on my website. They can be used by those
who feel "stuck" on what to write about or by those who just want some "food
for thought" or a little variety in their topics. LOOK FOR THEM AT THE END
OF THE HOMEWORK PAGE ON THIS WEBSITE! I will try to add more as I think
of them!
