MONDAY: Practice problems for Chapter 2 Test: Pages 110-111, #1-6, 9-14, 19-21, 31-34
HOMEWORK: Study for tomorrow’s test; finish problems started in class and check your answers
in the back of the book. Also, bring index cards to make flashcards in class after the test tomorrow.
TUESDAY Chapter 2 Test, then glue pages for Chapter 8 & 9 in Notebook and start flashcards
HOMEWORK: Make 16 flashcards: the word on one side, the definition and a labeled sketch on
the other side. Use the textbook Glossary (starts on page 666) to look up the definitions and to find
examples of labeled sketches. Use index cards or stiff paper. Correct spelling and neatness matters!

Week of September 14, 2009
Practice for daily grading for being prepared for class begins this week. You will have this week to
practice remembering to bring all the required materials to Math each day. (Beginning next week
you will lose 2 points on any day you do not have all your required materials as soon as you arrive to
class.)Class preparation counts for 5% of your overall term grade, so bringing all your materials each
day will help you achieve the best possible grade.
Be sure to bring to class each day the following items:
1) your Math book,
2) your spiral-bound Math notebook,
3) your agenda book
4) pencils with eraser (or block eraser)
5) dry erase marker
Monday - Study basic facts. There will be a quiz Tuesday on these facts, for a grade. We will also
start practicing the remaining tables through the 12’s and after Tuesday, future quizzes will include
these tables as well.
In class this week, we will also review and practice the steps of whole number multiplication and
division, and we will discuss and practice division estimation strategies.
You will have practice problems for homework based on what we do in class.
