Week of September 14, 2009 Practice for daily grading for being prepared for class begins this week. You will have this week to practice remembering to bring all the required materials to Math each day. (Beginning next week you will lose 2 points on any day you do not have all your required materials as soon as you arrive to class.)Class preparation counts for 5% of your overall term grade, so bringing all your materials each day will help you achieve the best possible grade. Be sure to bring to class each day the following items: 1) your Math book, 2) your spiral-bound Math notebook, 3) your agenda book 4) pencils with eraser (or block eraser) 5) dry erase marker Monday - Study basic facts. There will be a quiz Tuesday on these facts, for a grade. We will also start practicing the remaining tables through the 12’s and after Tuesday, future quizzes will include these tables as well. In class this week, we will also review and practice the steps of whole number multiplication and division, and we will discuss and practice division estimation strategies. You will have practice problems for homework based on what we do in class.
